That has never happened until Thursday.
I believe I've read in a couple of places that sometimes a sulcata ramming you is a sign of affection.. in a way. More like a mating behavior I would think, but whatever. lol

I found an injured wild bird inside the tortoise mansion, so I got it out of there hoping it would fly away but it didn't. Instead it sat by the fence where Destiny was walking as she grazed so she wound up running into the bird. Having that bird flopping around kind of freaked out Destiny the tortoise I think. I went over to get the bird away from her but I didn't have food with me. When Destiny sees me I am supposed to have a mulberry leaf, cactus bites, a flower or something with me but I didn't when the bird was flopping around.
The tortoise was almost stepping on the bird then she turned to me & rammed my legs! Now I was freaked out!
As soon as I got that bird out of the way Destiny began behaving like herself again.
I don't think I'm going to chalk this up to affection I think it was more like Destiny was stressed out by the bird & wanted it out of her way.

About the bird I have no idea how she got hurt but we're treating her for soft tissue injury. I got her x-rayed & there are no broken bones but I have a feeling she'll end up euthanized because the meds don't seem to be helping her.
It's always something around here sheesh!
