Begginer questions

Hi guys. I got a question. Could i keep a veiled chameleon outdoors in Southern California? The temperatures in the summer are usually in the 90's(a little too hot.) In the fall they are 80's. Winter low 60's. Spring low 60's to High 70's. The night temperatures aer usually 20 degrees lower. I am also concerned about proper humidity. How often should i mist the chameleon and what monthe should i bring it indoors. I haven't gotten the animal, but would like to know in advance to prevent death to such an awesome animal. I am also considering a rudis or jacksons.

It sounds a little to cold for a veiled to be outdoors in the winter and spring. But during the summer, it should be fine as long as you provide a nice cool shady area for it to retreat to if it gets too hot. As for misting, I usually mist mine 2-3 times a day, but it is only a supplement to the humidity. If you are living in a dry area, you might want to consider other ways of providing humidity as well. Indoors, humidifiers work well. Live plants help, and if you want to spend a little extra, you can get a misting machine that you can set to go off at certain times a day. Just be sure you keep it in a screen cage, especially if its going to be outside... good luck with your cham!
