Our girl isn't shedding!

notallthere Sep 18, 2005 01:48 PM

My girlfriend's Brooks isn't shedding like it normally does. Usually her eyes get cloudy for a day or so, then it goes away, and a day or so later she's shed. This time, her eyes got cloudy, and it went away... but it's been almost a week since then.. She's been stayin off of her heat pad and staying pretty much hidden from the heat lamp..Is this cause for concern? Is there anything we can do to help the lil girl out? Or is she just ticked off because my girlfriend got a cal king recently? Any suggestions would be of great help.

My snakes take about a week to shed. I don't think snakes can just turn off their shed. Is there enough humidty for it to shed easily? Derek

Well, Rach lives in Louisiana right now... So I'd imagine that it'd be pretty humid and she doesn't turn on her AC. She's just worried about the little one and I'm tryin to smooth over her concerns.

I understand. When my snakes are having trouble shedding, I put them in a tupperware container with holes in it with a warm wet paper towel but not hot. If mine are having trouble, the skin is coming off in pieces. I do this for a couple of hours. This makes them moist enough to shed. I'm not sure that is the problem, but it might be worth a try.
