Garteaser4 Sep 18, 2005 06:23 PM

Hey im new to the forum i just purchased my first blue beauty about a few days ago. Shes only 4 weeks, eating great though... does anybody have any suggestions for me? Ive heard that they get a little bit of an attitude as they get bigger any body have experience with these and what do you think about their aggression. I handle her and and my corn a lot so i just was wondering if the attitude thing will still play out as she gets older, if i handle her a lot. shes a real beauty though... no pun intended... id appreciate any info..thanks

go to the top of the page and click on the link that says "photo gallery". Then you can download your pix into kingsnake.com's FREE photo gallery and just use the space at the bottom of the reply page (where it says: OR Select Images from Photo Gallery) and choose which photos you want in your post. It sounds more complicated than it is.

Handling your blue often as it ages and grows will definatly make a big difference. The biggest thing is not to come at it from the front when picking it up especially when it's an adult. Like most aboreal or semi aboreal species they are quicker to strike if approched from the front. I have a 9ft male and a female about 8ft and only hold them when cleaning their cages but I come at them from low and behind. This picture shows what you can get when you catch them in a bad mood. I was carrying this female across the room one day in one hand and was not paying attention to her. She struck, biting me it the ear and it felt like some one power slaped me she struck me so hard. Dont get me wrong I love a snake with spirit. Good Luck. Randy W.

alright yea i plan on holding her all the time. i use to have two russian rats that were docile as can be, i mean i know that a beauty probally has more attitude, but there was never any problem with them at all, did you handle yours alot as they were growing up? Cause im away at school and have mine with me, i like to take her out at least 2 times aday even if i can only hold her for a half hour,, but its usually more, ive heard they get attitudes i just want mine to be docile as can be

To me picking it up once every couple of days breifly would make all the difference. Handling it like you are should make it rather laid back for a blue. Randy
