I've noticed something guys and gals. It seems that even though a snake may be indigenous to a region where the temperatures often top 90F, you don't necessarily have to reproduce these temps in captivity. For instance, my blood NEVER rests, or even slithers for that matter, in the area of it's enclosure that temps at about 90F-93F. It prefers to remain in the 80F-86F area. We all know that bloods inhabit regions that frequently top 90F. This tells me that even though these regions get this warm, the bloods/snakes don't make it a point to be active in the extreme heat. They're hiding at COOLER temps. I've noticed this same behavior w/ corns, kings, and milks to some extent. Of course, this partially explains their nocturnal behavior. P.S. I know this doesn't necessarily apply to all snakes. -Life Is Learning- Sankofa
