Do I need a bigger tank??

GeckGirl Jul 19, 2003 08:06 AM

Hi everyone,
My two leos live in a 15 gallon aquarium. They seem very happy, and are quite healthy. Never had any problems with them. Recently during the night, my female leo tries to "climb" the side of their tank. It almost looks like she's swimming up the side, or at least trying to. Is this a normal behavior, or do they need a bigger home? This may sound like a silly question. They seem totally comfortable at all other times. I checked my night temps, and read 75-80 degrees.
Thanks!

Leos will try to climb the glass in a small or large tank...it probably has something to do with the fact that they can see through it but can't GET through it. If your leos seem comfortable and have plenty of room to move around and aren't cramped then you shouldn't need a larger tank. If you are still doubtful, a 20gal long tank is an ideal size for 2 leos.

My leo does the same thing and she has a 20 long all to herself.
