crazy question

raisnok Sep 19, 2005 08:22 PM

its starting to get cool here, my snakes seem to be slowing down a bit with their eating habits and their sheds are taking longer.... is that due to season? nothing has changed in their enclosures.

One thing that I've notice here in Iowa is that the air gets really dry when it gets cold outside. You said your sheds were taking longer; make sure you humidiity levels aren't too low and your viv temps stay warm. I know in the winter I have to mist my cage more often than summmer just to keep the humidity up a little.

I have paper towels with little inspirational sayings on them. I got them cheap, on sale.

I can't imagine life without them now. It gives me a reason to get up in the morning, just to read the paper towels.

My snakes are much healthier now, as well. They are inspired. My whole house is full of inspiration.

The times when we run out of these little inspirational paper towels are dismal.

I hope this helps to inspire you and your snakes and dragons.

My paper towels have herbs on them. Stupid herbs. I want to be inspired, too!!! -jen

I think fatjay hit on it pretty well.
It does tend to get a little dryer as fall and winter move in.
Not only that they also sense the length of the days.
Or at least I beleive that even with the lights on they sense the days are shorter.
