Millie's Progress

lizard_lover Sep 19, 2005 08:59 PM

Yesterday afternoon I caught Millie digging in the sand in the corner of her cage. This is significant not beacuse she was getting ready to lay (she wasn't), but because she was actually using her front legs in a normal collared way. Up until then I had never really seen her use her front feet before. I thought that they might have been irreversibly damaged by MBD--but I may have been wrong. Lately I have seen her actually LIFT her body up off of the ground and run across the floor; she used to only scoot on her elbows.

Another improvement I have noted is with the eye that had the infection in the lid. It used to look like it was pushed down and had the appearance of being sunken in. Now it is just about fully rounded out and normal looking. Moreover, she had a complete shed a few days ago--for the first time since she arrived.

What strides she has made!

so you may have said this when you originally posted about millie, but i forget things, ha ha. i know you said you named her after a miracle, but did you really name her for milagro?
anyway, she is looking great! i hope her legs work perfectly soon. she looks like a normal lizard to me, great job!

Yep, good call. "Milagro" is what I named her--Millie for short
