Update on gravid Campina Grande Rainbows

Jeff Clark Sep 19, 2005 10:22 PM

...My Campina Grande Rainbows, Epicrates cenchria asissi were mating in early april. Through most of the summer it looked like each of the females was carrying a small litter of 3 to 5 babies. Recently both females have gotten more gravid looking and it looks like they may be carrying larger litters. They should be laying sometime in the next month. I am impatient to see what happens. Ravensgait (Randy) had his pair of Campina Grandes breeding a few weeks ealrier than mine were breeding. Hopefully one of us will be the first to successfully captive breed this subspecies outside of South America.

I haven't seen anything from Randy in a while. I wondered since us Texans are supposed to have an unwelcome visitor. All I'll get is some rain (hopefully...we need rain) but Houston doesn't look like a nice place to be this week.

Linda,
...Thanks for reminding us. I did not remember that Randy is from the Houston area. Let's hope this storm does something to make it cause less damage.
