UTH? plus one more-inquiry

RedQuake Jul 19, 2003 09:13 AM

Hi all

First, i've read that ZooMed UTH are a no go, cause they short out alot......Unfortunely thats all i can find around here although there are still a few places i can check. What is the best and safest UTH to use?

Second, for the Canadians out there (or anyone else who might know hehe)... Has anyone heard of Reptilia? I'd like opinions. From what i've read about them i'm impressed. They breed herps, have educational programs (a few i want to attend), can perform fecal tests (and is getting a vet in soon to do more too-like prescibe meds). They are quite a drive from me but well worth it seeing as they provide so much *after purchase care*.

Any input is greatly appreciated
Red

I am currently using 3 zoo med UTHs (on my 20gal long tank and a 10gal tank) and all are attached to a rheostat. If you have a temp control device they won't short out...they have been working great for me. I am also using an Exo-Terra Heat Wave (I think thats the name?) UTH on my other 10gal tank and that's working great too (also on a rheostat). Basically, any UTH is pretty safe as long as you have a temp control device.
