At three thirty this morning I got a fantastic treat. These are pictures of a clutch laid by a heterozygous for hypomelanism female who was bred back to her hypomelanistic uncle. I've been working with these animals for quite a while and they can be frustrating at times. My original line of hypomels tends to have problems regurgitating. I am currently trying to breed this trait out of them through outcrossing. This is my first attempt at outcrossing the line. My next goal is to breed two heterozygous animals from unrelated normal brazilians. My first hypomels have taken a long time to grow up because I have to feed them very small meals. 15 babies in all. 6 hypomels and 9 heterozygous animals. No slugs, no stillborn. Mamma is fine and has earned a season or two off. What a rush!!!
