Trouble with hatchlings

littlejo Sep 20, 2005 04:30 AM

I was just wondering if anyone has had the same problem I have been having. Last year I did a lot of breeding. I ended up hatching out a few babies. One of the babies had deformed eyelids. This baby lived for a few months and then died. All the other babies died within weeks or days of hatching. I now have two eggs in the incubator, and I dont want the same thing to happen twice. If anyone has any input, it would be greatly appreciated.

Could be a genetic thing, you didn't use the same 2 parents did you? Also could be due to incubation temps, if they flucuated to much or something. My guess would be more along the lines of genetics though.

My male is an albino, and I had 4 different females. I have a thermostat on my incubator. The only think I can think of is that the humidity may not have been constant. This year my female climbed over the divider to the male and ended up laying two eggs. I wasnt prepared for this. This must have really stressed her out because she isnt eating very well anymore and is getting thin. What is going on??
