I was lucky enough to find a wingless pogonomymex rugosus queen walking by my outdoor enclosure a few weeks ago. I put her in a small dish with a few inches of moist dirt.
Yesterday I opened it up and found 3 workers and a couple of larva along with the healthy queen.
I have it in an incubator with my solare eggs.
Is anyone else having any success at this?
It probably won't be any great source of food for the HL's for a long time, but it's interesting to have some luck with it.
You can see in the pics the workers are very tiny. A typical worker from a mature colony will be nearly half the size of the queen. These new little guys are much smaller than that.
