First off that is a very nice pastel.... one of the best around... with that said let me just warn u that overfeeding young snakes is not a good idea...

Try to space the meals a little more... Its better to feed a snake that size 3 meals over a 7 day period than to feed it 3 meals in one shot.

Please dont take this post the wrong way. I am just trying to help.

Good luck

Has there been any studies from a professional about over feeding? I find some of my animals love to "pig" out and then just stop for weeks/months before eating. I am sure this poster will be back and wondering why his animal has not eaten for 6 months.....They just do it!

true I had a plain old normal now named garbage gut who would eat everything he was as big as some of my 4 year old girls when he was about 1 1/2 years old or so. Then last oct he stopped eating and started eating a mouse every now and then this summer but barely anything(still to this date not alot of meals or big ones like before). He hasn't lost any weight or anything to be concerned with I just think he ate his 3 years worth of food to start with. Sometimes I think let them eat what they want cause soon enough they might not eat, though the amount posted is alittle much, I feed mine about once a week, he would sometimes eat some of the left overs from other snakes.

ok enough going on and on can you tell I am bored at work

But on the flip side of that there are snakes that never slow down and become crappy fat breeders..... both males and females breed better if they are chunky... not obese.

So feeding them as much as they can swallow is not a great idea.

Thanks..he is really nice! I actually feed him once a week. he was eating F/T rat pinks and has now started eating small rats F/T This has been his 3rd rat...I hope you weren't thinking it was his 3rd in ONE DAY!! LOL! I WOULD NOT do that!
