I really like the looks of those Texas calligaster. They seem to have much more contrast than those we see here in Ky.
My favorite pic of the whole series has got to be the one with you holding a handful of kingsnakes out in the field. Rolled up carpet and a big grass field. Oh yeah, neat stuff! Phil

Thanks Phil,
That's my buddy Jay holding those Kings. Some homeless folks took up residence in that field and took all the big pieces of A/C for their pad!$#@*&!
And I don't see too many calligaster because I never leave the county to look for them and San Antonio Urban sprawl has just about taken every inch of available landscape. Some snakes are eeking out a living in some surprising locations however.

Some of those getula look like intergrades to me. Pretty snakes. I'm kinda partial to desert kings
Terry
Terry,
When are you moving to Green valley? You'll have more getula fun than you can imagine when you get there. But I'm sure you knew that already. Envious.....
Forky
Yep
We already go there a couple times a year and have a house pmt. I plan to work with splendida and pyros 'cus I can study them in the field. Plus, those desert kings are starting to grow on me. I love my little two yr. old female, and I've seen about 20 w/c already.
We will be leaving in about three yrs, after my wife retires. I only have four more semesters

nope, every snake posted in those three threads was put back where found.
I wasn't keeping any snakes until my daughter "made me" keep a splendida from Brewster county Texas. So now I guess I will pair it up, since it's a pretty nice snake. I'll take some more photos of that one and post them.

The kings are schweetttttt and the pics are done veery well If you dont mind I would like to copy them and keep them for later references on my sticks.

Great pics Joe. Do you find splendida and calligaster in the same fields ? I've seen calligaster from out that way but never splendida. Down here in my area of Houston if you find one its pretty safe to assume the other is there as well.

Scott,
Sure do, at least I used to. Just posted this to Phil Peak the other day.
