Flexwatt & Thermal Gradient Question

CJBianco Sep 20, 2005 04:02 PM

Can a single strip of 3" Flexwatt (with thin metal cover) in an open rack system (with ambiant room temperatures at 75ºF) effectively heat a CB70 box (33"x18"x6" to the proper hot spot temperatures (90-95ºF) required for Ball Pythons?

Just curious...

I would say that 11" would be better for that tub...

I was afraid of that. The open rack system I want (FB) uses the 3" Flexwatt. Argghh! It looks like I'll just have to take Harper's advice and build my own rack system. (Or heat my snake room more effectively.) This is going to be a pain. I know it. Of course, I guess it could be one of those gratifying-sense-of-pride-and-accomplishment sort of pains I hear so much about. Who knows?

Thanks for the tip.

.........pain you might consider having a cabinet shop cut the pieces (if your going to use melamine) and then assemble the pieces yourself.i have done this on several racks and i'm pleased with the results.you get perfect cuts with no waste and the melamine cabinet shops use is a higher quality product than you find at lowe's etc. have fun!
