I'm interested in getting some Pyro's that have a lot of black or some black cross over, such as the one in this link.

I have a pair of Patagonia locality pyros like that. Last year was the first year they bred and I only got one baby, which I already sold. This year I got 2 good eggs but they both died in the eggs at near full term. I have bred some New Mexico pyros on loan from a friend and I had bad results with them too. I do good with knoblochi, alterna and mexicana so I don't know what I am doing wrong with the regular pyros but so far I have had pretty poor results with them.
I also have an adult pair of Prescott pyros that a friend just gave me a month ago. He caught them himself a year or two ago but now he is moving to AZ so he didn't want to have them because you can't sell the babies there. They also have alot of crossovers but the colors are pretty grungy. I have seen some really neat high band count almost all black and white pyros from Prescott so I am hoping they will produce something like that next year.
What I really like about these Patagonias though is that even though they have alot of black the colors are still extremely crisp and they are more red than orange. Good clean red is harder to find IMHO than light orange which almost always seems to be clean.
The first pic is the female Patagonia and the second is the male Patagonia.
I haven't taken pics of the Prescotts yet but I can if you want to see them.

Those photo's look great! Hey, let me know if you have any for sale that look like that. I can't remember where, but I saw some photo's of some low band and high black pyro's that IMHO really looked awesome, and nobody seems to breed for that trait.
Thank for the photo's

I do plan on selling these eventually but right now only #02 is taking pinks. These are F1 from wild caught adults which I really like because I prefer the normal types as close to what nature makes as possible, whatever that may be. I'll post pics of the parents soon, probably tonight.

Yeah, I agree about the "as close to nature" part. I understand the appeal of say, Applegates or low black, but the "natural"
phase is my favorite!

.
wild caught from Prescott. Top pic female, bottom pic male.

...have more than others. This guy has a weird look.
Lots of black on his sides as well, making circles of red.

Here is one with quite a bit of black. This snake is also 100% het-hypo Sentz line, and 50% het-hypoerythristic-(a poss. double het ghost pyro that was produced by breeding a Sentz hypo X het-hypoE male), but I liked the pattern on this one. It has a few aberrancies but with the look of the Sentz hypo pyros with more black will be the neatest looking ones. On Sentz hypos its the black bands that are most affected by the gene. They turn a really light cream-coffe color. So I've been trying to keep hets back that have a lot of black crossovers because those will be the best looking hypos. I produced a 50% het this year by breeding a male het-hypo Sentz X a WC prescott female-(it was from their 2nd clutch),the first was 4 eggs and 3 hatched with 2.1 and the 2nd clutch was 2 eggs and 1 hatched, and it has only 3 red full bands, all the rest is coverd with black and even on the lateral.I wish it was a female, but I'm still gonna keep it and maybe see if he proves out to be het or not,but if it was a hypo,it would be incredible looking. I'll get a pic of him soon to post here. I enjoyed the thread, I forget to check in here, maybe it will start to get more post's soon.

PS-Patton, sorry I ahve not got any pics out to you. I was looking at the pyros I have feeding right now,and most are males, but they are pretty average, nothign that is really heavy black,a few have a good amount of crossovers. If you still want to see any pics of them just ask, and male or female..?,peace.

Hi Jeff, That photo looks great! That has to be one of the busiest looking pyros I've seen in a while. Of course I like the black, but the white aberrancy looks nice too. They add a lot to the contrast. I'll e-mail you soon.
