Fruit questions

crust112 Sep 20, 2005 08:16 PM

I heard that a veiled would eat fruits. Are there certain fruits they can have and certain ones that they cannot? If anybody feeds fruit, could you tell me what you feed? Thanks a lot for any help.

I used to have one that would eat grated carrot and some romaine from time to time.

You can give them a wide variety of both fruits and vegetables: grapes, pear, apple, plum, strawberries, banana, brocoli, carrot, cucumber, cabbage-leaves and so on. Some things you should avoid are salad (very poor in vitamins) and spinach and rhubarb (they bind calcium).

I have been able to get my veileds to eat apples, pears, grapes, and flowers. I don't think there is much knowledge on what they can't eat but I would stay around from citrus fruits like limes and lemons, oranges would probally be ok also.
