Well my pair are hopefully getting close to hibrination. I haven't feed for a week and their heat light has been off since Monday. They are getting less active when I take them out of their aqurium. In my area it's starting to cool off for fall. I have started turning off their light right after they go to sleep, but by the end of the week I will start tuning it off earlier. does any one know how long a collared can go with out eating, just in case it takes them a while to go into hibranation?

Thanks,
Morgan

I don't have any suggestions for you since I have never managed to work up the nerve to brumate my guys, but I just wanted to wish you the best of luck.

If you shortning your lights and heat in two weeks, it wil be no problem. The most of them are going to sleep when its getting cold. So it's importand to cool them down to a good temparture (7-10 Celcius). Sometimes a few of mine are not sleeping before I put them into the shed. (During the winter I heat up my shed to maximal 8 degrees C. )

So to give you the answer......... don't worry, they can do a long time without food. As long if the temperture is not to high.

Good luck. I'm starting next month with cooling down.
