Help with tong feeding

titansfan81 Sep 20, 2005 09:32 PM

I need some help. I have had my pac-man for about 7 months and just can't get him to eat from the tongs. He will eat several crickets at a time but only if I am not standing near him. I want to try and bulk him up some and so I got some earthworms and pinkies. However, he will not take anything from the tongs. Do you all know of any tricks for feeding bigger food items? Will he become more aggressive as he ages? Is he still to young to eat pinkies? I am worried that I am doing something wrong!! Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

However often you feed him you could try waiting a day or so longer. I have three horn frogs that are picky about feeding from tongs. But I can usually get them eat from tongs if they're really hungry. Or sometimes when I feed pinkys, feeder fish, or worms I gently tap their snout with the food. Sometimes that gets them to snap at it. Feeding when it's dark out might help too.

if it's wiggling, my guy strikes it. Honestly, is it a big deal if he doesn't eat from tongs. Less chance for injuries IMO
