what is the difference.....

phiber_optikx Sep 20, 2005 10:38 PM

I was just wondering what the difference is between a tangerine albino honduran and a hypo...... genetically and color difference. I want a honduran and am absolutely in love with the neon orange color! So what would have the orange AND be the cheapest on me?

Tri-color and tangerine albinos(or Amelanistic) are lacking black pigment. Tangerines are just orange in the lighter bands, tri-colors are yellow, then there's peach which is kind of a happy medium. Hypomelanistic(did I spell that right?) is lacking some or most of the black pigment. The amount it is lacking is highly variable from extreme hypos to just no tipping in the red bands. Some albinos will tip-out usually in the lighter bands on the ends of there scales. If you've seen a wild one you'll know what I'm talking about.Anyways check out some the breeders websites on here they've got all the info you'll need.
Awesome Snakes!!

Well actually... the name Phiber_optikx has nothing to do with the cable. It is the name that Mark Abene a hacker from Queens used in the late 80's.

Hey Dave,

What is the one in the picture considered? Derek

kingsnaken Sep 21, 2005 09:58 AM

OOPS! I mean in your picture. Derek

Thanks for noticing Derek. He's an extreme hypo with a 66% chance of being het for anery. I posted him a few weeks ago but only one person replied. Thats a nice Dunham hypo you have there!

Picky eater, he only likes live pinkies(I don't blame him!)
