Questions on breeding

ShawnPerry Sep 20, 2005 11:02 PM

As posted before i have 3 ball pythons all kept in one encloser .
My question is this the other night i come to find one of the males tail locked with the female now tonight i find the other male tail locked with her tonight i know this is a sign of breeding but from what i understand the conditions have to be perfect in order for them to breed.right now the temps are 81 f
with the exception of an under tank heater in the corner the light in wich they are use to is natural sunlight which is provided by the window in the snakes room. If this is a sign of breeding what am i to do from this point any help would be appriecated thanks.

Balls breed whenever they feel like it - breeders play with temps and lights to produce optimal effects - but if your snakes are ready to breed they will breed without help. If you don't want them to breed or if they aren't of appropriate size the only thing you can do is seperate them.

She may, or may not. I have a pair that locked up AT LEAST two dozen times last season, no clutch. Because they lock up does not insure a clutch in the near future. Find an incubator just in case though .

I saw our picture its amazing one. i got one book for my pythons which name is "pythonsecrets" (http://www.pythonsecrets.com). After reading your email, I had a casual look about copulation in that book. They explain temperature to be maintain at time of cooling period by means of chart format and they explain , how much care should be taken at time of egg developing and egg laying period, how to remove eggs from thier mom, how to incubate the eggs using commercial incubators etc.

i think it may useful to u.
