in some places it is illegal to sell native species. it may als obe illegal to own them so you should probably check on these things with the state. you may just have to catch one or fish for one. why 6" and not 2" or 10"? are you ready to deal with an animal that can be over a foot in shell length alone? the neck is just as long as the shell. are you ready to feed it and provide it with a pond or very large aquarium?

PERMITS ARE FOR SUCKERS

remember that the laws arent just for you, they are for your neighbor's children and pets as well as your own safety. an alligator or caiman loose an in apartment building when the neighbors dont even know could cause extreme bodily injury and death. im assuming yours have never gotten out considering that you still have them, but just because it hasnt happened yet doesnt mean it wont and if it does i hope that everyone else comes out okay. it is one thing for you to put yourself in a dangerous situation but all the people around you have the right to a safe environment that you are taking away. i think it is necessary for some people to ask if he is ready considering all the unwanted large reptiles these days, he knows what he is getting into. if you want to break the laws i can only hope that none of your neghbors gets hurt by your actions, but dont ncourage others to break the laws.
