Dear Croc-o-philes;
I'm not going to post everything at the site (link provided below), but you guys (gals?) might want to be aware of the less than accurate reporting on man-eating alligators in the Katrina-affected area of New Orleans.
Most of it is 'blog' material ... but this is how rumors get started.
