Not sulfur...

ZFelicien Sep 21, 2005 04:21 PM

but close enough... the bigger of the two is an `04 male the hatchling is an `05 female

they are from "Sulphur" lavender (het axanthic) X BHB Axanthic (Het lavender)... the sulfur gene is a really strong one... pix do these no justice

`04 male (check out the yellow bands)

`05 female

Now Question... if i breed two snakes that are 50% Sulfur would the lavender offspring be 100% Sulfur lavenders?

`05 BHB Axanthic female from same pairing... these are nicer than i expected... they aren't as nice as the NE axanthic i have but still nice!

BTW: this is Rainer's work not mine!... i think the lavenders from this pairing need a price upgrade... he was "giving them away" for $125 and Sulfurs are $300 (i think?)... i think they are worth much more than his asking price... wathca think?

The sulfurs are not a simple reccessive trait so the ones I am calling sulfur lavenders are only 50% sulfurs which makes yours 25% sulfur. The only true sulfur is a normal phenotype. You are right the sulur gene is STRONG for it to show up in the BHB axanthic X sulfur lavender pairing.

Glad the snakes are doing fine. Thanks for posting the pics.
