how to increase temp in cage?

i live in ahumid area near the ocean, unfortunately it's often cool. about 65 F on average at night. this is too cool for ball pythons, and i am palnning on getting afew. does anyone have any advice for increasing heat in aquarium style enclosures? i am using heat mats plus lighting, are ceramic heaters any better/more efficient? thanks!
