Yellow Rat Snake Question

burner Sep 22, 2005 11:01 AM

I have a yellow rat snake, it has red eyes. I've picked up what seems to be a year old baby yellow. It, has gold eyes.
I've heard of black eyes, so will and can the gold ones change?
If so when can they change? This may be a silly question but I had to ask. So, thanks in advance.

If you had a Yellow rat Snake with black colored eyes, that would be strange. Nature doesn't want the eyes to stand out on an animal that hunts by stealth. The eye color is normally about the same color as the scales on the snake’s head. It sounds like you have very normal Yellows.
