Something is wrong with my retic. Please help.

I also posted this in the Reticulated Python forum. I hope that someone will be able to give me some information. Thank you.

I don't know what is wrong with my albino retic. I have had him for nine months, and just today, all of a sudden, he seems to be having some muscular problems. It seems almost as though he doesn't have any muscles at all in his mid section. The front third of his body is perfectly normal, and so is the back third, but in his middle, it seems that there is just flab, or like his skin is just hanging off of his bones there. It feels almost squishy. He also seems like he has no control over that section of his body. It just sort of drags along when he moves. I have been keeping snakes for about six years and I have several other retics and have never seen this before. I will be setting up an appointment with the vet tomorrow, but I would really appreciate any comments or thoughts as to what this might be and what I should do. Thank you.

Sounds like some kind of neurological problem-possibly caused by an injury to the snake; ie. something falling onto the mid-section, or something else causing trauma to the spinal column. Most likely, the snake should be x-rayed. Your next best bet is to have a vet treat your snake.

Please let us know what your veterinarian finds

I hope your snake does well.
