To my knowledge, uroplatus are a look but don't touch genus. I don't handle mine at all unless they're spending an evening in the shower so I can clean their cage. They aren't mean, but they aren't something you can hold and pet either. If you want something to play with, get a crested gecko.

I'm new though, so maybe someone else has a better answer.

as far as handling, i would suggest not doing it with any leaftail. sometimes you can get an animal that seems tame, but eventually itll get up and try to jump off. they're pretty slow movers compared to some other geckos, but they arent fond of handling.

as far as temperament towards one another, males and females do fine for the most part, but ive noticed intraspecific aggression between males. its not a common, everyday thing...but you can end up noticing bite marks on heads and tails after a while.
