Is is possable to get red with out getting sandfire?

UroJade Sep 22, 2005 05:26 PM

I was lucky enough to get a beatiful red and orange girl this year and im looking for a future mate for her but im having trouble. There are many Many! beatiful babies out there.

my baby has alot of sandfire on her fathers side so i thought I should avoid sandfire when lookng for a male but i've also read that Bloods,Cawleys, chris allens, and fire tigers are sandfire so im at a loss, is it true that their all sandfire or is there something there i can look for to breed her to?
should i just go with an orange or bright yellow instead?
any recomendations on good breeders?
I havnt bred beardies yet and i want everything to go well

There are red lines out there that are not related to Sandfire's line. If you contact some of the long term breeders like Dachui's or kevin Dunne, you may be able to find some of those that have not been bred into the any sandfire lines.

It is getting hard to find dragons that are not from one of the several line breeders in the US, which is why breeders working with imported lines and lines they know are not related will be the saving grace of this industry.

Those dragons are truly the future of this species that has a very small gene pool and is already showing problems due to inbreeding or people breeding just any to dragons together.
