anyone know of a good source for stick insects?
I'm having problems finding anyone selling them right now.
I had a batch from about 6 months ago, but I've fed them all to my chams.
thanks,
Garrett

Garrett:
Stick insects are not allowed in the US, so that might be why you're having trouble finding them.
It's a USDA thing and quite honestly, I've looked and I cannot see WHERE the USDA gets its guidance for what they allow and don't allow. All I can say for CERTAIN is that they decide what they WANT to ban and no one has any say in the manner.
Not that I would EVER advocate doing anything illegal (although it's not ILLEGAL per se to keep stick bugs), you could also try approaching your local University's Biology class. You might find a sympathetic individual to provide you stick bugs in limited numbers.

There is a place in Gilroy, Ca. that sells them. I believe there ones that don't don't need a male to reproduce (I forget the name for it). There number is 408 846-9477 and you might call and see if they ship. Forgot, it's called "Our Pet Shop".
