We were in a PetsMart last week, my wife and I, just to pick up some turtle food. Normally, I avoid their "lizard" display... I'm not fond of how these stores sell their reptiles.
My wife, however, stopped, looked, and said: "They've got a Uro."
Sure enough, there was a small brown Uro sitting there, looking at us.
"We're getting her," my wife said.
"Uh, honey, we already have seven reptiles..."
"Scott! This is a mali. We're buying her."
And so we took home a new friend.
Dizzy was a feisty little beast, until we introduced her to my eldest daughter, Elora, who has had her big black Uro mali (Wizard) for five years. Dizzy climbed into my daughter's hand, wrapped her front feet around her thumb, and went to sleep.
Attached is a photo of Dizzy sunning herself today. She's only about five inches long, but she's eaten well and is very strong. And she *is* cute.
