D. Tinctorius maturity

crotaphytusman Sep 23, 2005 11:38 AM

I just wanted to know how old Tincs have to be before they are able to reproduce. Mine are about 4-6 months old. I am assuming it is at least a year. Also, is it really obvious when the females are gravid? Thanks for any help.

Judging by the nearest thing I have to tincs, the azureus, they seem to begin breeding activity at somewhat over a year. I don't know of any way of telling whether the female is gravid or not, since mine are always plump.

tincs generally reach maturity within 14 to 16 months. males will start to call once maturity is reached.as to being able to tell if females are gravid, you can tell about 1 out of 100 times by lookin at them.
hope it helps
