i use a johnson to heat my room, but the herpstat (which i use in my incubator)just came out with a new model w/nightdrop I LOVE my herpstat and im sure their new product will be awesome if that helps
I also decided to try a herpstat, love it so much I am going to get a herpstat II and use the HS I for my incubator. Info can be found at http://www.spyderrobotics.com/index.html TONS of great features...
I use the Johnson thermostat for my racks and for the tub that I had my snake maternally incubating in this past season. They work great - keep nice consistant tub temps. For me it's not really a big deal to reset the nightdrop temp every night on them and raise it again in the morning - its just two more minutes added to two hours that I spend everyday on our snakes. I suppose there is a way to do it automatically but it's just pushing a button eight times and I'm not all that lazy - LOL.

I have 6 Johnson Controls for my racks and they work very well. Ordered a Helix 1500 3 weeks before my first ball python females started laying eggs, but they were on back order. Well my first eggs started coming and had to use a Johnson in my walk in incubator room. By the time the Helix showed up, I had 5 clutches of eggs and the Johnson was keeping the room 89 degrees on the money. I didn't ever change over to the Helix. It is still keeping my room a constant temperature today. Johnson Controls are rated for 1500 watts. That's enough watts for an oil filled heater or a lot of feet of heat tape. May use the Helix 1500 next year, but the Johnson performed very good. Thanks, Skip
I have had excellent performance from Johnson Controls thermostats. They can be wired to automatically offset (nightdrop) the temp but I have not tried to do it yet.
