i went to a small petstore and found two very emaciated leopard geckos. they look like they hadn't been fed in a month. they had no reserves in their tails whatsoever but i was unable to buy them to get them out of there. when i asked what kind of geckos they had they said they had tokay geckos and that was all then i reminded them i saw the leopards in the corner and he said oh i forgot they are tucked away in the corner. i could expect this from a 10 year old kid that forgets to feed him but even kids keep there pets fed it infuriates me. i dont have enough money to get them out of there. they wouldn't let me get them out to see how bad they were but one looked almost dead the other was just a little better looking.

If I was you I'd contact the local SPCA and a few reptile rescues to see if anyone can shut that place down or at least give them fines to remind them that they're responsible for the animals they keep and sell. Places and people that abuse their animals make me sick.

It's hard, but it's better not to buy geckos in such appalling conditions. You can buy two, but the store will just replace it with two more, and treat them exactly the same way. Its heartbreaking, but its better for the pet trade in general to not financially support such establishments.
