Its not really the height that will matter, it is the amount of floor space. If you use have lots of egg crates and paper towel rolls then 500 crickets will probably be fine. However, crickets do have a high mortality rate and I don't know if they will keep for three weeks (I have a hard time keeping 50 crickets alive for one week!). For adult beardies and leos, adult crickets would be appropriate (bout an inch long).

I just have mine a big rubbermaid container. But yours sounds fine. I also clean mine out about once a week or so. I haev never had a problem of loosing crix. Actually mine are breeding now and There are almost to many. My leos hardly eat them, but I keep them arond for every once in a while they try to.

the crix are for small under 40 gram leos and hatchling berdies. i was asking if 1/4-1/8 inch crix would live that long.worm man has them 14 bucks shipped i am gonna give it a try
I have never ordered from the Wormman before but I usually get 2000 crix every 2 weeks from Southern Crickets. I keep them in 2 Rubbermaid containers, clean the containers every 7-10 days and usually I have about 50-100 crix that die within that 2 weeks period which isn't too bad. You should be able to keep 500 crix in a 20 gallon tank but you need to make sure the tank is kept clean.
Only 500 crix? How bout $11.85 shipped? check out superwormfarm.com
I order between 6 and 8 thousand crickets from them weekly with no problems yet.
