Outdoor Enclosure Recommendations?

rsmith Sep 23, 2005 05:27 PM

I have a young veiled chameleon, and am currently keeping him indoors in a store-bought all screen enclosure.

I want to put something together outside for him. I have a 6' tall ficus tree in a large pot that I would like to put him in during the warmer months during the day.

I was thinking that there must be some company out there that makes a 6'-7' tall, vinyl covered wire cage that is 3' wide and 3' deep. I would think that 1/2" mesh would be good.

I was thinking I would just cut the bottom out, and drop it right over my ficus tree, and viola! Instant enclosure... complete with tree and natural sunlight and heat.

Anyone out there know a company that makes such things?

I found a company called CD&E Enterprises that makes what I am looking for....sort of. (click link below)

They have a a 6' x 3' x 3' Walk-In Enclosure. Model # W543.

The only problems are, the mesh looks kinda large...like a chameleon could go right through the stuff, and the cost. They want $610 for it plus shipping.

Anyone know of anyone who makes cages just like that...only with smaller mesh wire....and cheaper?

A 260 Gal. Reptarium is 6 feet tall. Only 30" wide and Deep though.

Bluebeast Reptiles makes custom cages.

Trim down your tree.
