Will basins develope more white scales over time filling in stripes. Or does the stripe that a baby is born with stay the same thru its life.

Hey Corey,
I have seen literally hundreds of baby basins and they definately gain white as they age for the first year. You can have a baby with absolutely not a hint of a stripe and it could end up a full striped animal.
The majority of baby basins take after their mothers appearance and some of the litter will actually surpass them. So if you have a baby that is born with a 1 scale stripe and the mother has a 5 scale stripe, expect the baby to add more striping.
The traits that do not really change are crossbar length, laterals, and diamonds. The crossbars may add a little white in thickness but the other two don't really change at all.
Hope this helps!

It probably depends on which guy you are talking to. I asked the same thing on another message board and got a couple of different answers. I guess they probably do get some more white but one guy will tell you they get a lot and somebody else will tell you a little. I took some good advice and got a baby from good looking parents which made sense to me.
