New Addition to My Colony - Male Extreme

Conserving_herps Sep 23, 2005 10:02 PM

Just wanted to share my new vanishing extreme hatchling that I got from Mike Falcon. It's just amazing how you can appreciate more when you see it in person. His head is actually turning more greenish than grey when his head bounces off the sunlight. And talk about those ruby eyes ! These pics are taken a couple of weeks after shedding...he'll shed soon and I'll post more pics when he sheds.

Sorry for the non-focus second pic. Hard to keep him still but just wanted to show his vanishing.

Thanks for looking.

I appreciate your compliments man. He eats like a pig so it won't take long for him to start turning "blue" and go into shedding. Can't wait for him to have brand new skin again and share some pics with you all.

Thanks again Dave,

Ray,
That snake is very nice.I have four extreme's from Mike and I love them all.2 of them are vanishing and two are nice even banded all the way down.I will have to tell you that as they get older and larger the even banded ones look better. The contrast is just out of this world.
Keep the pics comeing man,

Shannon

Thanks a lot for your response. You're a better photographer than myself as the one you just attached was what I was trying to do when I was taking some pics of mine. Is that pic already of an adult?

Anyway, could you do me a favor and post an adult extreme pic that is full banded and adult extreme pic that is vanishing? I would like to see what you meant when you said that as they grow older, the full banded look nicer than the vanishing.

Thanks again,

Ray,
Heres a young adult female and I think she is much better looking than the first one I posted. To each his own but the contrast is so much better with the wider (and I know its not all that much wider)bands.

The other pair I have is just the oppisite with the female being vanishing (almost patternless) and the male haveing a nice pattern all the way down.

They are (04)hatches and the two I just posted are (03) and the tri color extreme I have is a (04) also.I think there is a chance he may breed next year at 18 months though. He has gotten pretty good size on him but we will see?
I will try him on a triple het or two to see.He is poss het anery and amel so it will be fun to see what he is made of.Thanks to Jeff alloway for makeing him.

Many thanks to Mike Falcon for busting out these awesome extreme's also.

And yes, as you indicated, some would prefer the vanishing and some would love some more banding when it comes to extremes. I guess since the color/shade of the banding on the extreme is something to behold and looked at appreciatively in person, it has more impact if you can see more banding than let's say a patternless extreme. The one I got from Mike has a lot of banding even if it is vanishing. But either way, any true extreme to me really is spectacular.

I wonder if any one has an "abberant" pattern extreme.

Thanks for posting Shannon.

Take care...

heres one of the 04s that is pretty aberrant.it has alot of saddles and whatknot on it.I wouldn't say it is real aberrant or striped or anything but its not uniform like the others.
