This is a captive bred male C. collaris. Pure aquaflame. Strange thing is he has a blue dewlap which is uncommon for lizards from this local. It's hard to see his dewlap in this picture so I'll post better shots soon.

I'm wondering if there would be more yellow on the head that would effect the dewlap color if he was wild caught instead of captive bred.
His yellow brightens up during the breeding season and when he warmed up more.
Strange it is Will, but maybee one of its grandparents was a (what we here call)baileyi or auriceps? or yellowhead.
Isn't aquaflame a mix between auriceps and a collaris whit an orange dewlap??Or am I very wrong here? But he is very beautiful.Nice bright bleu and yellow.

An aquaflame is a name coined by Dr. Thomas Jones...a man who has been breeding collareds for quite some time. Supposedly, this name originated from those lizards showing the aqua blue bodies with the yellow/orange head. Typically these lizards are found in specific locale. I don't think Dr. Jones shares his locale with too many people. I know a few people know, because they have made trips with him occassionally. Depending on who you ask in authority, it is illegal to capture any lizards in Oklahoma for commercial purposes now.
That's probably why you see so many lizards that look like aquaflames coming out of "secret" Texas locale. No what I mean?

I know they are relatively close to the same area. I'd say within 10 miles more than likely. In the area where I collect, I have special permission from some cattle ranchers where I hunt. It's basically a few miles of hillside. I've seen some awesome lizards come from this hill. Kong came from the road leading to their house. This two lizards pictures look nearly identical to a lot of lizards I've seen out there.
