How to heat the water? And, please recommend a bulb.

My first question is, how do I heat the water? I want it slightly above room temp. I have an aquarium heater in there right now but it says not to run dry and the water level is only about 5" deep. It's not doing much if anything.

Second, can you guys please recommend a bulb? I'm looking for a full spectrum bulb (not tube) that emits heat and has uva and 5-10% uvb. Of course, I would prefer a low priced one, if that's possible for this kind of combo.

It's really hard to shop for one online b/c the item descriptions often leave out levels and other specifics. And the pet store's prices are jacked up, but atleast there I can look at the boxes.

the only bulbs like that, and im not sure on their levels, are UVHeat and they are very pricey, $40-60 at least for a single bulb. for a heater i would use a submersible aquarium heater. this allows you to put it lower in the water on its side so the whole thing is submerged even as the water level drop a couple inches. these usually have a thermostat built in so you can select the exact temp, not just higher or lower like some heaters.
