Found this little guy along with a 4 footer the other day. They're an addition to my herp photography project (trying to get all the native species on camera just to see if I can), and pretty rare in my area so I was happy to find them!

Where was the photo taken? That is one of the better natural photos that I have seen posted here in a while. Thanks for posting it.
Thanks for the reply. This was taken in Erie County, PA. They're pretty uncommon around here, but there's supposedly a small sustainable population where I found the hatchling and the adult on Wednesday.

That lil guy has alot of yellow for a northern [PA] blk rat...Did u take a shot of the adult ?
here's the bigger one. I guess I shouldn't have said 'adult' as it was only about 4 feet long. I had a harder time getting good shots of this one because it was so big that I either had to go with head shots or else wide shots that didn't show much detail. Here's one of my favorites though

I have a few others that are basically just reference shots of what's left of the pattern. If you want to see them to compare, let me know and I can upload them when I get home from work tonight.
Also, like I mentioned before, this is for a project that I'm working on just for the sake of doing so. If anybody's interested to see any of the other herps I've gotten so far, look under the Outdoor>>Wildlife album on here.

I'm hoping that once I get more species in Spring (I've got 18 or 19 now, and about 20 to go), I'll be able to get a few photo sales out of these at the Pittsburgh herp show in March or April, so we'll see!
Another great photo. I took a look at the other photos at the address you listed. You have some very fine work posted there. You should be very proud of it.
Thanks for posting your photos.
