PICS - Garter Snake at my pond!

PATMAN Sep 24, 2005 10:26 AM

I'm in North Central PA.

I was looking out our dining room window today, checking our little 55 gallon pond and found this guy!

I don't think he was interested in the fake ducklings in the pond. He just went for a swim, which our fish didn't care for. They are to big for him to eat anyway.

Later, my wife spotted him outside of the pond. He was soon on his way, no harm done.

Great pic. Its nice to have wildlife in the area. We used to have them (Far east long island)to till they sprayed for mosquitos with the so called "harmless" poison.
Than for 4 yrs they dissapeared as did all the amphibians and other bugs everything BUT the mosquitos .
Now they are reapearing again. I hope they dont ever spray again it was a good summer seeing garters, etc again.
