Hi Dan,
If by "clean" you mean minimal or no speckles on the base color, then if a baby is clean, he should be clean as an adult. Most Ghosts do get darker to a degree as they approach adulthood, although some lines stay lighter. Also, a litter of baby Ghosts that look very similar can turn into all sorts of shades as they mature. Mine have matured as biege, tan, biege-grey, and some are the coolest cheesecake yellow! My yellow ones are my favorites!
Ghosts have only been around since 2000, and as people breed lighter ones to lighter ones, you will probably start seeing the adult coloring improve. As a Ghost lover, I hope people will do this and I believe a few will. Many are using them for triple hets. I would like to see some paler, lighter Ghosts produced.....just because.....(to me) they are the other end of the color spectrum, that isn't Albino. They are the total opposite of blinding color. Soft hues of creams and greys has a beauty unto itself.
IMO, Bill Kirby has produced some stunning Ghosts that have turned into beautiful adults. His first generation animals were awesome....his keepers are shockingly beautiful. He produced the very first Ghosts and I hope he will continue to try to make them even more "Ghostly".
I hope to make prettier ones as well, because I love Ghosts. I am getting close to breeding my Ghost x Ghost babies of one litter to Ghost x Ghost offspring of another litter. In this pic, is one of my youngster males who is just now having "an awakening" regarding girls
His "love" interest here, is in shed and very dark right now. Usually she is a very pale, creamy color. I can't wait to see what the next generation produces......
Good luck to you in your search. You are right....there are some beauties out there!

>>I have been looking at ghosts lately and there are several beautiful ones available. As adults do they usually stay clean? Many Anerys get very dark and hypos often muddy up so it would'nt be surprising if ghosts change too. Are there any lines that are more like to stay clean and light?

>>Thanks,
>>Dan
