Zambi after giving birth to the dead babies still.......

PHEve Sep 24, 2005 03:25 PM

Seems to look rather large through the middle. I would think since she started to give birth yesterday that she would be done.

Anyway I took their cage and them outside today, put Zambi and her mate Zimba in a reptarium (after a pic of each) while I tore their screened/ chameleon cage apart.

* I found no live young at all, anywhere. So I felt better knowing I searched for any posssible live youngsters.
I cleaned everything up and put their tree back, and returned them to their home.

Zambi is eating and doing fine, just seems hefty like I said, you can see in her photo.

You may find that she may still have some birthing to do. My werner started giving birth also. And when she was finished she is very skinny. So hopfully you may have some babies yet to come. let us know. My female ended up having 2 still born, 1 died shortly after birth, 4 slugs and a total of 13 that are so far alive and well. They seem to be doing okay.I will post some pictures now that you have helped me with some instrutions. good luck. and sorry to haer about the ones that did not make it. Sherry

Yeah, my girl still does look hefty, have to watch her. I know all my other female lizards after egg laying are always quite emachiated looking for a bit.

I'm glad your youngsters are still doing fine, I know it's tough to keep them all alive, so I wish you all the best, Sherry!

Keep us updated on their progress, love to continue hearing from and sharing with fellow werneri keepers

Eve;
If you're really concerned about her retaining any babies, you could always have an X-ray done...

Hi Eve,

been a bit absent lately but just read about Zambi's babies I haven't read the whole thread(s) so I may be asking something already asked, but do you know why this may have happened? Anyway, sad for all three of you.
