My F1.5 (again, I use this term to represent a wild caught x captive bred) eggs from June are doing nicely. 3 died off early on and 1 more is dead but I refuse to remove it from the bin. 3-4 more months on those eggs.
Today I dug up some more F1.5s. There were 9 of them but it is possible there were more. I dug around and found no others, but that does not mean I did not miss a few. These were laid sometime Saturday-Monday. My past week has been hell so I simply do not remember the day she laid them nor did I have time to dig them up sooner. They are a bit dehydrated, but they should bounce back if they are still alive. I am sure most will do fine.
Sometime during the past week, Dragon dropped a clutch of infertiles, thus confirming that she is a female (which I knew but wanted definitive proof). So, she dropped her first clutch at 2.5 years. She is over four feet, but I cannot be more accurate without one of the following: 1. an assistant or 2. a visit to the ER (ok, I probably could get a length without the ER visit, but it sounds more dramatic this way - she's not friendly. lol).
Leviathan (a w/c rescue that I have had 1.5 years) recently dropped another clutch too.
Maybe I will cycle my male through all of them. hahaha
So many water monitor eggs.
