? about Big Apple thermostat

Rob Lewis Sep 24, 2005 06:55 PM

Hi All,
This may be a pretty simple question but I thought I would ask anyway. I have a Big Apple Herp Power proportional thermostat that I am very happy with. It has a night temp drop feature but I have not yet used it. My question is this: if I am happy with my room temps as an overnight low, can I set up a timer to shut off the whole unit each night rather than using the night drop? Will that somehow damage the unit? The night drop feature is nice but it needs to be calibrated and since my room is already the right temperature for overnight it just seems easier to shut the whole thing off. As I said, I am just not sure if that will harm the thermostat or not. I hope all this is clear. Any help that anyone might have is really appreciated. Thanks.

Rob

If it were me, I'd find the exact night time temp of your room and then set the night time temp to that temp, as a fail safe, in case of a freak cold front blowing through your snake room!

Sounds like a good plan to me
