Well, this is it...our last litter of the season! Not Colombian Boas...but some Brazilian Rainbow Boas...Hypos and Het. Hypos to be exact! Earlier this season we bred our male Hypo BRB (EBV line) to our female 100% Het. Hypo. This was the first time breeding for both the male and the female so we weren't sure if it would be successfully, especially since the female was small.
Well the male seemed to do the job and the female was definitely gravid. We've been waiting on her to give birth for the past month or so and it seemed like it took Hurricane Rita to convince her that it was time! She gave birth today to 9 beautiful, healthy babies - 1.1 Hypos, 4.3 100% Hets., 1 still born, and two slugs. The Hypo vs Het. ratio was not in our favor but that's okay...we're more than happy with the way this first time mom handled herself!
