The little baby w/ rubber legs seems to be doing a little better...

LauraV Jul 19, 2003 04:49 PM

For those of you who did not see my first thread talking about this baby, he appears to be suffering from metabolic bone disease. After liquid calcium and a uvb tube for absorbtion, his legs appear to be straightening out some. The downfall to the uvb tubes is that his color is lightening. He used to be a deep tang - sigh, oh well, at least he appears to be getting better. Hopefully, he will be able to lead a normal life someday. He sure is turning out to be quite the "hottie".

Thats good to hear that its getting better! It's colours might only be getting lighter because it's about to shed but either way, it's a beautiful gecko, best of luck w/ it!

Actually the top pic, where the baby showed more orange was the pic of him in full shed. The bottom pic is fresh from shedding out. I waited until he was through before I took the pic. He's a pretty boy, I just hate to see his color fading.

Maybe it will come back once he is well and living like a normal leo again. Those guys can do weird stuff with their coloration, and he is still quite young so there is still a lot of time for change.

Who told you to use a UV light?

I never used one with my MBD leo and she's absolutely fine =/
