I’m making a plywood terrarium that will have the back wall and sides completely lined with a medium gray high density foam “rock wall” that I purchased from Big Apple Herp Supply:

Obviously the two joints where the sides meet the back wall will be a bit rough. What kind of material can I use to “meld” the joints nicely? After this, is there some sort of clear coat which will give a hard protective finish on the rather soft backrounds?
